Summary
This article is mainly concentrated on the process of evaluating students and assigning grades during the classes.
Assessment for Learning, or AfL occurs at all stages of the learning process. Students are encouraged to take an active role, become self-regulated learners and leave school able and confident to continue learning throughout their lives. AfL is also referred to as formative assessment. It means the process of collecting and interpreting evidence for use by teachers and learners to decide where they are in their learning, where they need to go, and how best to get there.
AfL is the most powerful way of improving learning nowadays. I completely agree with the author’s ideas. The most important area that should be focused on, is affective use of AFL. I also acknowledge the use of assessment for learning as an effective tool to make the learner come to term with his/her learning objectives.
